Fly Over Country – New video directing project

I am so excited to start editing my new video project I just directed and produced in Kansas. I am not going to give away the plot or show all of the locations just yet…but I wanted to post some quick film stills because, well, I can’t help it…I am just too excited to keep it all a secret until the edit is done. I’m going to write an in-depth post about the whole production and process and about my fabulous crew & talent and DP Chris Eversole when the video is edited and up – check back soon for more updates!

New Work – Kayla and Kira in Central Park

It’s warming up a little bit in NYC and yesterday’s shoot with Kayla and Kira was a great way to explore Spring in Central Park!

Morning at the Museum

My good friend Neel came for a visit this week. He’s a professor at UNC Chapel Hill and has some time off this year to finish his book, so he’s been staying with me for a few days in Brooklyn. This morning we woke up and decided to head over to see what was going on at the American Museum of Natural History. I never cease to be amazed at the incredible detail that went into the dioramas in the museum. I think about how much fun it would have been to actually work on the fabrication of these in the 1940′s – such an interesting mix of art and science. I found an article in the NY Times (here) from October 2011 explaining how they are constantly working on maintaining and restoring the animals in specific halls right now. We finished our trip by visiting the “Creatures of Light” exhibit on animals that produce bioluminescence. We thought we were going to actually see some live creatures that glow in the dark…and we did….hundreds of wild children running through the dark rooms with interactive displays of animals that emit light…ahh gotta love spring break in NYC!

Scosha Jewelry Shoot

Here are some outtakes from a recent shoot for Williamsburg, Brooklyn based Australian jewelry designer Scosha. Her jewelry is delicate and one of a kind and I love the way all of the different materials used in her pieces play off one another so well. We’ll be posting more of the “detailed jewelry shots” from this shoot soon.

The ten page editorial I shot for the Brazilian magazine “Revista – O Globo”was published today. This story was shot on a beach on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro.

I spent my birthday weekend in Buzios, Brazil. Thought I’d share some travel shots I popped off during my stay. What a gorgeous paradise. Now back in Rio de Janeiro and planning a couple of shoots here before heading back to New York.
